Hamilton Chess Club meets Wednesday nights between September and March from 1800-2200, in Hamilton Bowling Club, Strathmore Rd, Hamilton ML3 6AQ.

The club has separate adult and junior sections, with the junior section meeting on a Wednesday evening from 1800-1930 and the adult section from 1900-2200.

Although classed as our 'adult section', in practice most of our more promising junior players will also attend the club at this time. The club has members of all ages and abilities, ranging from beginners to junior and senior internationals, coming not only from South Lanarkshire, but also from North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, West Lothian and Central Region.

The club takes part in a range of competitions, ranging from the Scottish National Chess League, the premier national cup competitions - Richardson and Spens Cups, and Glasgow and Lanarkshire Leagues. Club members also participate on an individual basis in a range of events across the country as well as farther afield.

Visiting captains please note - league games will start at 7:30pm.

Our junior section is primarily intended for less experienced players, who can then progress to the adult section, by invitation, as their skills and enthusiasm develop. The junior players will meet from 1800-1900.
